David Dalpiaz is a Teaching Associate Professor for the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. After earning a PhD in Statistics from Illinois in 2014, he has since taught thousands of undergraduate and graduate students in courses on probability, statistics, data science, machine learning, and introductory programming. For these courses, he has developed educational resources including the freely available and open-source textbooks Applied Statistics with R and Atomic R. His research focuses on accessibility in education through his work with the Universal Design for Learning and Accessibility Research Group. As a member of the Eck Sports Lab, in collaboration with the Chicago Cubs, David supervises undergraduate research projects in baseball analytics.
